A CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

Situated high on Durban’s Berea Ridge, Phezulu B&B offers upmarket yet affordable, comfortable accommodation with a creative difference. Run in conjunction with the Phansi Museum of Arts and Crafts, Phezulu is decorated with traditional South African arts and craftwork, with a focus on works from KwaZulu-Natal.
Each room has a separate entrance, a private patio dining area, en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning or ceiling fan. Accommodation is available in single, double or family / group rooms. TV with Mnet and coffee stations are provided, along with secure off-street parking. A lush tropical garden provides a haven for relaxation.
Phezulu was designed by acclaimed architect Paul Mikula and was home to Paul and his wife Maggie Mikula, a renowned South African ceramic artist. The open-plan living area with its sweeping panoramic views of Durban is contrasted by the more organic design of the bedrooms, and the house is beautifully decorated with tiling and detailing by Maggie, along with indigenous South African arts and crafts.
While providing a unique cultural experience to our visitors, Phezulu is conveniently situated close to restaurants, shopping centres and public transport, and is a few minutes drive away from the city centre and beaches.
